Peasedown Pigeons

Peasedown St John, near Bath, is a former mining village in the Somerset coalfield. This community mosaic project referenced the strong historical association between mining communities and racing pigeons in creating a trail of mosaic pigeon around the village.

Residents made their own pigeons which were installed on their houses, or on commercial and public buildings.
